Default Speed Radar detection - Saudi

This speeding lark is costing me a fortune! and they are going to start a points system the back end of this year.

I know the simple answer is not to speed......

However iv decided that some sort of detection device might also be handy if i forget to slow down.

Does anybody have any recommendations, my pal has a road angel and that doesn’t seem to cut the mustard for him, not sure of the reasons.

I seem to remember the Saudi Police warning of severe punishments for anyone caught with a detection device.

Not worth it.

not condoning this kind of behaviour but a while back (maybe 6 years ago) I had something called an escort 8500rx or something like that on a motorcyle which detects all sorts of cop radar and flashes a bright light for you to know.

if you are serious about it you also need to get a jammer which blocks a laser detector from reading your speed for a few seconds. enough time to slow down.
you can easily order them online

Thing is, a detector is fine. It's passive and the cops won't know you have one unless they pull you over and see it.

If it's an active jammer and they do you with a speed gun, they'll come after you. Not worth the risk.

@knickerdropofglory

Out of curiosity, exactly how fast are you going over the speed limit?

Having spent the last two years there and got one speeding ticket because I was on a road that I had not used before and did not realise it had a camera. The mobile ones always go back to the same palce week in week out and are usually in the shade under the bridges.

Have you got a bad memory and can't remember where they are? Also would not use a jammer as the consequences could be bad.

The jammer isn't some crazy high tech item that flashes up on the cops gun, signal being jammed or anything like that. it just delays the readout for a few seconds so you can slow, the police certainly don't feel anything untoward is happening unless this is a daily event.
The jammer can be set to jam for only a few seconds so it won't stay on to allow you blast past one finger in the air. Also the cops assume that they didnt point the device properly, this was certainly the case with motorbikes. so unless you drive a suburban you'll be fine.

I used to have a jammer back in the UK, if it was activated it would jam for a few seconds then go passive.

Think it was effective as never got points.

Well, abide by that rule inside urban areas. Outside..... no speed cameras except for those operated by police with radar guns and frankly, I have more confidence in the work ethic of a chocolate teapot than some of the police officers I've seen here.
