Hi guys - anyone get any reccies? 2 1/2 year old's speech is delayed (problems with fluid in his ears) & he's now playing catch up. Anyone have have reccies?

Don't his/her parents know how to speak properly? Sending such a young child to a therapist would probably scar him/her for life, surely?

2.5 is not too young for early intervention speech therapy. http://naturallatetalkers.com/ is quite a good resource for late developing talkers although perhaps biased towards non SLT approaches. I can't help with a recommendation for a SLT in Dubai but a good place to start is by ringing schools.

Check them out personally (i.e. go and meet the actual therapist that will be working with the child).

A friend back home took her son to someone similar - only to find the speech therapist had a lisp...........
