Son and girlfriend visiting Dubai
 

How is the law applied to young couples visiting Dubai, my son is visiting in July with his girlfriend they are engaged, but not married or blood relatives (obviously). How does Sharia law treat them, are they allowed to visit as a courting couple?

I have read some odd stories in Gulf News about men and women being jailed/deported for being alone in a room together?.

It's come up a few times in the forums...generally it shouldn't be a problem, especially if they are discreet about things...
