I don't think those prices are quite up to date. The prices rose across most compounds between 5-10% at the end of September and my friend that lives in Al Hamra said his rates rose by 5% at the end of 2009.

I'm flying in for a final interview and a look around in the next couple of weeks. Anyone recommend a couple of the less expensive compounds to ask to be shown around?
My prospective employer is in the Kingdom Tower so near there? With a squash court?

One of the best compounds in Riyadh in my opinion that does not cost an arm and a leg is Seder Village - that's where I've stayed.

Looks OK. And there is a hotel on the compound too, so if I get any visitors I guess they can stay there (rather than me rent a 2-bed place year round)...
Thanks.

I've got some prices somewhere I'll post them online - the hotel/motel is about 500SAR/night (400 if you stay for more than a week) - but you have access to all the compound - I stayed there until a villa was available.

Hi Danajj
Looks like I will be arriving out there in the next few weeks, having accepted an offer verbally. Did you find the prices that you mention above? Looks like I will need to top up the housing allowance I've been given (just over 100k SAR/year).

Had some info back from Seder Village (where there is a 6 month waiting list). A 3-bed bugalow is 100,000SAR/year (if paid in full in advance), and an "executive" one is 105,000 (don't know what the difference is).
