Sofa wont fit - anyone help??
 

Hi all, if anyone has any solutions would MUCH appreciate, new appartment in Dubai and new sofa unfortunatly the two are not compatible - lift is too small and sofa too big (at 7ft length) 2 pieces simimilar size...the stairs have huge pipes blocking the access to fire escape, no larger service lift either...and this a brand new appartment!

Would anyone know a company who will dissasemble and re-assemble once in the appartment...the sofa shop wont refund obviously and there is nothing smaller that even remotely looks worth exchanging for

How high up are you and how big are your windows? A friend had a similar problem last year - got someone to remove his windows and had a mini crane lift it up into his living room.

but that costs a huge amount of money.
You say disassemble..is it IKEA type furniture? If so call IKEA and they will help you, otherwise get a bigger apartment or a smaller sofa! :)

we are 12 floors up and doubt it will get in the balcony window....

The size of the appartment is big - this is not in proportion to the size of the lift or stairs unfortunatly...its not Ikea but there are companies in UK, New York, Australia who make a living from this - dissasembly of furniture because of poor access then reassemble in the appartment...just wondering if anyone has any experience / knows anyone here in Dubai?

will probably try some upholstry shops in Satwa and see if they do / know anyone
