This is the problem for a lot of non muslims..

In a developed society, to have such blind faith in the writings of a single book, that could have been written by anybody, just defies logic..

If a holy book that you believed in asked you to chop your hands and feet off at the age of 18, would you do it?
(I realise if you chopped your own feet off first, you would have to get a bit of help with your hands - as after the first hand went - how would you hold the axe for the last hand?)

people think that Quraan is written by someone

Quraan is the speech of God and it is in the language of Arabic..

one side of the mircale of Quraan is although Arabians at that time were sooo good at arabic (far better than people now)

God challenged them to come up with something that is like Quraan.

then he chanllenged them to come up with just small portion of it.

Then Challenged them to come up with one aayah ...or one line that is similar to it.

do you see what i am trying to say ??

imagine a child in KG 1 talking or writing ...would you compare his writing with a PHD holder for example !!

imagine a creature is talking ... would you compare what he is saying with what the Creator is saying??


none of the Arabs or none Arabs will be able to write something like Quraan... not even one line !!!

can you believe this??? not even one line


it is the speech of the Creator.. it is not your speech not mine .. not even the prophets speech... it is the speech of Allah.


second problem is ..

you assume that Quraan will ask me to harm my self ... which is not what God wants from his creatures.... so be rational.

and if we continue talking about islam and my believes you know what will happen ?? the following problem

problem number 4

people will start asking me to stop speaching them about islam although i am not the one who started it

and they will make fun of me and my beliefs although i am trying my best to be good to them

and so much hate and stuipedity will appear in the lines of some of the people here .. (not all)

so how can i deal with all these 4 problems !!!

Surely this belongs in the religious debate forum at beliefnet.com?

I do feel though that for some Muslim people (I stress some) it's quite fine to take risks on the road because if you die you go to heaven...everything is inshallah.

Meanwhile non-muslims and muslims who don't hold such literal beliefs are being maimed and injured and killed everyday...

Sigh.

Just one more serious question: If the Holy Quran is the word of God, did HE actually write the book, or did a human (I'm assuming Mohammed - PBUH) write it down for him?
