So what are your Salik experiences now?
Obviously the kids are still off school, but a friend who lives near Lamcy and commutes to Media City every day says that after the initial drop-off in cars on SZR, things are now back to pre-Salik levels.
Is anyone else finding this? Certainly, in London traffic levels are back up to more-or-less what they were before the introduction of the congestion charge... the only difference is that the charge has gone up while the area it covers has been expanded.
Hmmm... charge gone up... charging zone expanded. Hmmm...

we had TFL in one day as there's a bendy bus waiting point outside of our factory and it was blocking the trucks from entering or leaving the premises... they even confirmed that bendy buses were introduced to cause congestion!
the only way of stopping the congestion is to give people a cheap and easier alternative to a car... that's not going to happen in dubai as it's too hot... in london I drive to work because it costs me more to take the train in a day that it does to drive a whole week... where's the logic?

well... in london there was a bit of fiddling going on... bendy buses were introduced along with bus lanes etc... then the congestion charge... so the 30% drop in congestion they keep toting around doesn't even bring it down to the level it was at before the bendy buses were introduced...

Re: So what are your Salik experiences now?
i've got this mad thing with salik where they have to check manually whether i've been through a toll or not, cos they buggered it up before the launch and didn't get the instructions right for my car. Now how many thousands must be in the same position...so how the hell is that going to work...?!!
