skateparks in Dubai?
can anyone please recommend any good skateparks in Dubai - my nephew is over next week and is asking if its worth bringing his board

my son is there 'all the time' so it must be ok...20 dhs entrance, must wear a helmet...

There's also one at Al Mamzar, that's good for the less experienced - depends if he is a hardcore skater, as Festival City is geared up for those more experienced. At least at Al Mamzar you can go lay on the beach, while he skates!

Festival city is a fairly good street style park, no transition though.
Mamzar is a 12ft concrete half pipe with no coping, quite fun though.
There used to be one on the Springs but closed now unfortunately (still there though...)
Also some full pipes and concrete drainage ditches dotted aorund the country.
Send him to Abu Dhabi, a not too bad concrete park on the corniche with street and transition then some of the best street skating anywhere, just across the road on the corniche.
In dubai theres some good street spots also the main one being in Deira, called 'Sparks'.
I'd say bring the board but be prepared to drive him around a fair bit, depends how into it he is really.
