ISTR Etisalat saying that it was because flickr users could post nudey pics. But I thought they unblocked it again?

lol, Bob, I'm not quite sure what those are...but think Etisalat block any attempt at VOIP. Not to worry, we are soon to have a duopoly, or even some real competition when a third supplier enters the market if the press reports are right. Yeah, when hell freezes over, LMFAO.

But Lingo and Voip are just a couple of providers over here, nice and cheap VOIP calls including calls to land lines, just bring the phone around with you and all that...probably would get blocked, but if it's new out there, it might not

it is to my understanding that different locations such as arabian ranches my uncle's sipgate works, however in deira it does not. But then gradually it spreads to the region and the block is implicated everywhere. so enjoy it while u can, that is if urs is still working.

Yup, Skype version 3 is working for me anyway. Don't know how long until Etisalat put their hand in their pocket to buy upgraded blocking software.
