Doesn't seem the best business plan. The booze Souq is all but empty with many people now steering clear simply out of principle. Hard to tell how bad its going to be in the height of summer when the teachers all leave and the bars quieten down even further.

It's been dead over Christmas. Went in Tahitian Village one Saturday and we were the only table in.

It's a tax though, so in theory any extra revenue raised from this will go to the government, not QR....although I appreciate that the lines are somewhat blurred there! If anything, this will impact negatively on QR's profits due to decreased alcohol sales.
