Default Short term lets in Dubai?

Hello,

We'll be moving to Dubai on Oct 18th :scared: this year on visit visas. Looking for work etc.

My question - does anyone know of a good place to find short term fully furnished studio / 1 bed flats?

I know they can be hard to come by - hotel appartments are too expensive. Gulf News comes up with a few options. EDIT - Have spoken with one of the "agencies" listed in Gulf News, Jumeriah compound 3,500 Dhs per month with 2,000 dhs refundable deposit plus 1,060 Dhs elec & water refundable deposit plus 1,500 Dhs AGENCY FEE! - Does this sound reasonable for furnished studio apartment for a couple on a visit visa? Are such agency fees normal? Are deposits normally refunded fully or can there be heavy deductions for no reason?

Any websites / personal recommendations?

Many thanks!

whoa, might want to check that place out, that's very very low, especially for a fully furnished place in jumeirah. And you might want to look for something bigger than a studio, 400 sf for two people will get old in about a day.

edit. ok, now i realize this would be temporary until you found jobs, or left, negotiate the agency fee, i did it after the lease was actually signed, saved 1250 dhs

Sounds like a sound deal Autonomy. You may want to check out studios or 1 bedrooms on Sheikh Zayed Road. I think you could get something very decent in the price range along that stretch. Ask your estate agent for more units in that area.

You may even consider renting a place at one of the Golden Sands apartments in Bur Dubai.......which is about 10-15 minutes drive from Jumeirah.

If you need further info, do ask.
