Another great Filipino bar is Kitakits. Marco Polo hotel.
Huge and very well put together stage production.

I have done the upper level at Burk Khalifa and I don't think it is worth the extra money.

I haven't been to Jules Bar for a while but it used to be full of hookers, trannies and old blokes who'd take anything for a fumble.

Isn't that 90% of the bars in Dubai?

Trannies? Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention, but the last time I saw blokes wearing dresses in a pub was in Bahrain.

At times Jules Bar can be a bit like the Star Wars bar. Much as Rock Bottoms is any day of the week. *shudder*

I do now recall a gorgeous-looking thing in a bar in AD who had an alarmingly-deep voice...

Sidartha is a lovely open room top bar, with good food and sheesha - it's in the Grosvenor in the Marina

Another pinoy fave is Jules Bar, fun band there too (but not a patch on Club 7).

I always find Brunch suggestions very Meh...
are you kidding me, it's frigging rank, full of ugly pros and old white fugly middle aged men - I guess in that respite it works for both sets of 'clientele'

The band is fun.

I like to do shisha at Nasimi or iKandy. If I can be bothered with the traffic.

It used to be known as the bar for old queens. Are the pros young pretty boys from a certain SE Asian country known for terrible food?

Just a note to say we survived the weekend in Dubai

Had a great time and she really enjoyed it. I think especially the bit where she got to shop on my credit card, heheh. But it was worth it.

Stayed at the Marriott Marquis, 53rd floor super view.
Did a couple of Malls, desert safari, Burj, Club 7, other clubs, Jollibees. Plus of course all the other stuff you're prone to do after not seeing each other for a good while

So the time was well used and we still have plenty left to do on another visit. Thanks for all the good info here.

I was surprised at just how Russified Dubai seems to have become since my previous visit maybe 2 years ago. Far more so than Doha which might be expected but even so it seemed every single service person we dealt with was of Slavic origin. What's that about?

They're cheap still but look better.
