Default Sharjah traffic

Ok so we're off to luckies on Saturday morning (hopefully),

I hear some real horror stories about the traffic, whens best to go and return? We're thinking of going early, about 8-9am....

Good choice...Be out of there by 10.05...

Just take the E311 to SHJ, turn off left just under the National Paints bridge, and on the second R/A turn right...After that you're on your own,I've never been to Lucky's...

Who or what is luckies? If you are coming from central Dubai, I suggest that you travel via Garhoud Bridge so you get into the fast track flow. If you go via Makthoum/Floating Bridge, you will be stuck in the crawl around the Dubai Police HQ diversion. Coming back, you will find the usual gridlock around Mulla Plaza at any time of day, but just grin and bear it. Depending on where you are going, the tunnel may be worth considering...not sure about the Emirates Road option as it just seems too far off the direct route unless you are coming from Arabian Ranches/Mirdiff etc. If so, I would still prefer the tunnel route so you avoid the industrial areas.

Safita is great & in Al Quoz. Just seems a lot easier to have a look at the place on your doorstep first before schlepping to Sharjah...

The first rule of furniture shops is that you don't talk about furniture shops.
The second rule of furniture shops....

you'll be fine.

From 5:30 a.m. until noon all the traffic is into Dubai... my boss comes in from the creek golf course in Deira and it takes him less than 20 minutes all the way to the Sharjah Corniche.

You may hit traffic returning to Dubai but by then you'll be so happy with your new furniture that you won't notice

Clearly not MM!

There was a thread on this a few weeks ago - including detailed directions to Safita.
