It's a frustrating process and one which is shrouded in mystery - there is no specific time frame and nothing you can do to influence proceedings. My AD clearance is in it's 6th week of asking, although I am unsure as to whether it was applied for once necessary documents were received by my prospective employer ( a bank). It is what it is, as they say. Frustrating if nothing else.

Did you check with HR if they have applied CID or no response from HR ?

So 6th week is from the time your documents have been received by HR - Am I correct ?

Yup HR had everything they needed from me nearly 6 weeks ago, they have applied for CID etc. but not sure when that actually happened. It probably took them a few days to put everything together.

see how long is a piece of string... there is no fast rule... it can take a week or months it will depend on company on pro on anything happening at the time.. you want it to be done before ramadan starts as it gets even slower.

That's a good point - hadn't thought of that. Just over 6 weeks til Ramadan so
I'll pray to all and sundry in the meantime.

Hello everybody,

I'm with dual nationality (French/Algerian) and my agency (for a job in oil & gas) back to me saying that they applied twice for my Visa but got rejected as there were some issues regarding my CID clearance.

What does it mean ? What should I do? Can it compromise my futur?

I'm worried and I don't understand why it is rejected , I have a clean police record and I can work everywhere in Europe .

There are some nationalities who find it very hard to get security cleared. I'm guessing it is your Algerian background... It's often nothing to do with a police record, and there is usually nothing which can be done about it unless your company are very, very keen to employ you, and are willing to use all their influence to fight your case. As you mention "agency", I'm assuming they won't do that, and you will struggle to work here. Sorry...

The only thing you might try is applying through a different agency. It is possible that the one you are with are simply using the "sorry no visa" excuse because they have found someone else more profitable for them.

Almost everything here is arbitrary...
