SCUBA diving in jeddah

Im thinking of taking some leave to get my scuba certification, probably in jeddah, dose anybody have any experiences or advice on the subject? Do i need my passport for an internal flight?

There are a number of good instructors in Jeddah and the cost varies. My wife and son completed their PADI with a well known British instructor last year - PM me for her contact details and I have a couple of others.

You should have your Iqama/Passport with you for internal travel, though it is not always asked to be seen.

There's a scuba place in Riyadh - may be linked to an operation on West Coast but initial training done in a pool in Riyadh. It's located next to the Ice Rink and Tamimi supermarket on AbdulAziz Rd.

It is a real run down old mall on King Abdulaziz a bit further south from Hyatt. On the old airport side of the road between the junction with Abdullah to the north and T junction with Urubah.

Think there's a SABB on the diagonally opposite corner. Pretty sure a Tamimi is in there too.

If you have your Iqama with you, you won't need your passport.:fingerscrossed:

There's a dive shop on Olaya St (just north of King Abdullah) which may be able to recommend some instructors...there's also a couple of Riyadh expat diving groups on facebook.

Haven't dived in Jeddah yet but going to organise something soon.

the diving shop guy only does trips out to jeddah, which is a disapointment... I might try looking into that other shop that was mentioned....
