Yes, don't go. Osama Bin Ladin has publicly requested his followers to kidnap Western tourists visiting Yemen so that he can exchange them for Al Qaeda prisoners. Might prove to be an interesting holiday experience if you go.

I have just asked one of our translators who is going back to Yemen for her summer hols at the end of the week - "Is it safe for Westerners like me?" she gave me a look and said the inevitable... "Insha'allah". I wasn't that convinced....
