Sama Dubai

Can anyone help? I have been offered an interview with Sama Dubai a real estate subsidary of Dubai Holdings. Does anyone have any experience of working for or with them that they are able to share. I've done the Google and web site bit which is very impressive but if anyone has anything they could add it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Obviously it may not have the slightest impact on your job but i believe their current cheif exec is currently embroiled in the corruption scandal which is affecting numerous companies in Dubai.

Sama Dubai is part of Dubai Holdings so expect a pace of work similar to that of working for any govt organisation though more than likely a tad slower ! Also i believe the packages dubai holding entities are offering tend to be at the lower scale of the market but you could get good perks like good discounts on good quality housing...best of luck, Foxes

i can only give you second hand advice. I work in the property development field and had a phone interview with sama dubai a few weeks ago. The interview was okay, though conducted entirely by their HR guy. The feedback I got was that despite working in property development for 18 years for some of the biggest companies in australia, they didn't think i was qualified! I subsequently came to dubai and abu dhabi and meet with all the big players including nakheel, emaar, royal group etc, and got offered numerous roles. several of those companies mentioned sama dubai in passing, and the feedback was not great. more than one recruitment person told me not to bother with them. why? not quite sure!
hope that helps

Thanks for that - it reflects my current situation with them, basically nothing happening!!!! At the risk of being cheeky can you let me know how you went about securing interviews? Was it done through a recruitment consultant or did you just approach the m direct with your CV?

I have circa 20 years commercial property developement experience in the UK but I'm currently finding it difficult to make any significant progress through recruitment consultants- I'm told this is largely down to Ramadan/Eid but it's frustrating. I'm tempted to just send my CV out direct and see if I can secure any interviews. Any thoughts?

Guys,
I have been offered a job in AD and expect to start around Jan 09. My son is in his final year of a BSc degree in Property Management and Investment, finishing June 09. Do you think that he could get a graduate job in AD or Dubai? It would be great if he could, alternatively he will have to remain in the UK and buck his own goat; so to speak.

Hi there
my experience, which is only based on, well, my experience, is that there is strong demand for experienced Property professionals, but limited demand for people just starting out. Most development companies I have spoken to have wanted a minimum 7 - 10 years experience.
However its probably worth your son chatting to some recruiters as I could be completly wrong!

Sama Dubai is a mess. All projects are years late. Senior ex-pats are being marched out by the day. I would strongly recommend against joining this company. Avoid.
