Default Salaries and Grades (Government)

As per new law - and this includes the likes of Emirates, DEWA, Etisalat etc. etc.

Published in Emrates today yesterday btw, so all you who thought you were on shit salaries, take a look at these.

I'm rounding them to the nearest 1000Dhs

Grade Minimum Maximum
16 38 80
15 28 49
14 22 37
13 18 31 EVP level
12 16 17 SVP level
11 14 23 VP level
10 12 19 Manager XYZ
9 9 15 xyz Manager
8 8 13 Supervisor
7 6 10
6 5 8
5 4 6
4 2 4
3 2 3
2 1 2
1 1 2

UAE nationals get +25%,
Housing etc. allowances are in addition to the above (G9 =10k, 10=14k, 11= more), Travel allowances add between 1 and 3k to G9-11s.

That should answer so many questions that we get posed.

For expats, schooling is paid (upto 90%, utilities aren't (unless you have company provided accom, and car allowance is also known as transport allowance, from AED1100 (g9) upwards.

Are schools paid for? What school fees are we talking about? Private/Public schools and from what ages?

Think the last quote from MJC was just Emirates - they pay for schooling - which is all private unless you are local - from ages 4/5 - 18 well 90% of it up to a max of around Dhs 27000 (or thereabouts, which is based on the non-profit schools here) for a maximum of three children. This is the amount they will pay for primary education - it goes up for secondary but not sure of the allowance - again though it will be based on one of the non-profit secondary schools.

Thanks for the clarification. I did recently browse through the English version of the new government HR policy but did not see anything regarding school allowances. Considering the cost of schools it would have been a grateful addition to existing policy.
