Room Shares
Morning/Afternoon all,
I've had a search and a read but there seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions everywhere I go.
My firm are putting me up for 3 months when I arrive which is not as generous as a lot of companies are but better than a kick in the jelly tots.
What I'm wondering is whether it's worth me getting a 1 bed place after that on my own and making that commitment or whether I should go for a room share.
I've shared in the UK but only with one other person who was a mate, so I know it's do-able but legally speaking - what's the crack?
Can't live with a partner, can you live with someone of the opposite sex legally? Or is that living in sin? Can you share with same sex house-mates?
Thanks in advance.

Loads of people do it - best not to mix the sex though.
I'm not sure it's illegal (pretty sure it's not) - they tried to stop it for a while - but that was more aimed at low income 20 to a villa arrangements.
Plenty folks share in "New Dubai"

3 months- i got two weeks mate so think yourself lucky- its a grey area living with peopel of the other sex- basically no you shouldn't but people do.
Hosue shares are a good isea for meeting people, however it involves moving in witha bunch of strangers which can go horribly worng ( which I have known happen to a few people) you could always go into hotel apartments ona monthly basis until you fully settle.

By law you can't share with a bird but everyone does, so don't worry about it,and yeah if you have cash maybe serviced apartments would be good, some good deals out there.

Re: Room Shares
Again, thanks for the replies.
Spugsy - Can I share legally with another bloke / two blokes?
I appreciate the concern about living with helmets, but I think I'll risk it, as you say Kittycat, it's a good way to meet more people etc.
Lessens the complete commitment too I suppose
