Lead trainer package in UAE
Hi, Im meant to be coming out to UAE in April to work for the MOE as a lead trainer (basically a role we don't have in U.K. someone who looks after a group of teacher in their subject over a cluster of schools - as I understand it ). It pays 280,000 ued - which compared to my take home salary over here feels like a fortune.
Ive done my budgets, and I can still do better than here, but it has come to my attention that it may not be the best package as it does not include accomodation. Nor, bearing in mind I will be travelling around a cluster of schools, a car.
I cant decide if I am being naive or not. Does anybody know a lead trainer in the state system and the kind of package they are on? Or how I might track one Down? And is there ever room to negotiate Accommodation and travel directly once I am there ( understanding they can just say no ) ? I have got the job through an agency so it makes it a bit tricky to negotiate through them ( as it is in their interest I just go) .
If if I had a ball park figure of what package I should expect then at least I can make an informed choice .

As a benchmark if this helps:
A fresh out of college teacher in a primary school gets around 10k+ housing - so around 15k all in
A teacher with a couple of years will get around 20k all in.
I suspect, you're being sold a bit short, but I wouldn't know for sure. Maybe 30k-35k a month would be better. That's a very respectable but not earth shattering salary and they should be able to pay it.
As for negotiating once you have arrived - forget it. Get as much as you can before you start as you'll probably never see an annual increment given its a government employer.

Teaching isn't that well paid here but as you're only working 50% of the year its not so bad.
