RIP.

Sad, but it's what he wanted so I hope he is at peace and his family feel some relief. A truly awful situation and that whole family has my greatest sympathy.

I do hope the fight goes on and the law changes.

A hugely sad situation although as said, he will now hopefully be at peace.

Can't help but think it's a bit of a coincidence that he died 'of natural causes' within days of losing his court case?

I sincerely hope if they do a post-mortem that nothing suspicious is discovered and there are no further investigations.....

It could of course have been all the stress of the last few days (and months and years) finally took their toll.

I hope they don't carry out a post mortem or that anything is discovered. It's what he wanted and I believe that he had the right to die.

I hope so, but I'm sure the do gooders will be out for the family. Why can't they just leave the family to try and greive and get on with their lives?

Met him a few times with the Rugby and AGRFU stuff, he was a very nice bloke.

RIP

Unfortunately, it's pretty certain that further investigations will be undertaken. I hope they find nothing untoward.

From the Independent

Wiltshire Police confirmed the force would not be investigating Mr Nicklinson's death.

A spokesman for the force said: “Police are not involved at all. We can confirm he passed away and it is not a matter for Wiltshire Police...His death certificate has been signed by a doctor, so it is not a matter for Wiltshire Police or the coroner.”

RIP

Strange feeling to be pleased for a man that's died.

I know but it is what he wanted, he is free from the horrible locked in syndrome, did you see the documentary he was in? I cried.

No, I've read a fair bit on it but not seen the doc. Such an emotive debate, I think I agree with him, despite completely disagreeing with suicide.

It's a head scratcher but I'm pleased that the family have an end to the heartache and he has the result and end to the pain he wanted.

I hope the law changes, I have a pact with a family member that if I end up in a state where I cant control my own body movements, enjoy a pint and marlboro red to end it for me. I will gladly do the same for them, I seriously cannot think of anything worse its like a permanent torture.

My old man has said the same to me. Pray neither you or I ever have that situation to deal with.
