Restaurant recommendations, please

OK, so our big boss is coming to Dubai next week and I need to book a table for dinner. I have already booked Seafire, Nobu and Zuma, and need a fourth restaurant. The Rivington is fully booked that evening.

Please could somebody recommend somewhere impressive to take him. I am afraid to say that we tend to eat in mid-price restaurants, due to having a young family and a limited budget and I am not familiar with the restaurants at the upper end.

Thanks very much :)

It has to be high end?

Table 9 at Hilton Dubai Creek (was Gordon Ramsey's Verre)
Mezzanine (Gary Rhodes at Grosvenor House)
MJ's at The Madinat (good steak place & lovely setting)
The Exchange Grill at The Fairmont

Blimey, I've never heard of any of those!

Yes, it does really. Ours is a massive international company and he's the president. We need to at least maintain the illusion that we are taking the visit seriously...

Thanks for the rec's - I'll give them a call.

You have plenty of choice of nice restaurants at Souk Al Bahar overlooking the Dubai Mall musical fountain and Burj Khalifa. Why not take him there and let him choose for himself. There are always plenty of tables available. So where is The Ivy exactly?

Remind him of the state of the global economy and take him to a Thali place in Deira.

The restaurants in the Souk serving booze are almost always fully booked especially with a view of the fountains.
The Ivy is in Emirates Towers, in the Boulavard

Why not point out to him that you cannot afford to eat at the high-end places on the pittance he pays you, and take him to Ravi's in Satwa....

I like this line of thinking, better take him there on the Metro too, you could always treat him to a Gold Nol card...
