but as a working woman you would have an xray but not if you were a housewife - not allowed to work.

so you have an xray if you work? Is there some kind of logic behind that.

Re: Resident Visa medical test in UAE

logic hahahahahaha  i dunno but those the rules, xray for workers no xray for housewife/s, hence one less piccie required for housewife. maybe because if you are working with lots of other people you either may come across more diseases

As of 1/1/09, all residency medical checks in AD have to be done by the Abu Dhabi Health Authority. These are done at Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in AD. My work colleague went for his tests yesterday and waited for around 3 hours for a number. Tried his luck this morning at 5:30am and there was around 100 people waiting. Think Emirates ID but worse...

Re: Resident Visa medical test in UAE

i am sure that you can still pay to do them in the private hospital such as al noor

The Al Noor clinic adjacent to the hospital for the residency medical tests is still open, I went past it last night?

Dug this out from the National website

http://www.thenational.ae/article/20...73341449570282

From the article:-

From Jan 1, the Disease Prevention and Screening Centres will be the only recognised test centres in the capital, requiring longer hours.

As usual - confusion reigns!

Also, a woman is exempt from the chest x-ray if she is pregnant.

Bisarre*, isn't it? The guys I know here are from the British Army, kind of on loan. They didn't do the Medical before being granted Residence Visas. Just goes to show how arbitrary it all is... or seems...

Possibly civilian contract from M.O.I. Think one has to be National to be 'in Army' and subject of Military Contract. Not 100% but fairly certain.Sure I'll be corrected if wrong.Wings clipped even
