You mean IF they get electric on Al Reem..... Also re: Raha Beach - not sure how many will want to live in the middle of a huge construction site especially given the fact that it is an ALDAR project as they change their minds constantly about end products and dates. I wonder how much they will try and charge for Al Bandar - remember the mad prices at Al Raha Gardens - now it appears to be a "cheap" place to live by Abu Dhabi standards until you factor in running costs.
I keeping checking the rental values in AD Week for Al Raha - still at 200 - 220k for a 3 bed - anybody got experience at renting for less than this?

There are nurseries in Khalifa A which is 10mins drive, but I can't comment on price or quality (can assume expensive and shit like everything else here).

I've seen the Aldar adverts for buying at Al Bandar (internals look good) but not any rental values yet - anybody know approximate values?

Re: Rents in Abu Dhabi and the one cheque issue
I am about to live my aptm in AD due to my office being moved to Dubai - and I am gonna follow my office. I was renting a 1bd in Manaser area (close to Al Bateen) for 120. I called the landlord to say I am leaving and the guy was desperate. he said they are not getting customers at all in these days (they are managing something like 40 villa in town), and that he was expecting to get something maybe for 70-80k for my aptm if he will be lucky....
Good time to negotiate a deal even in AD I believe

We've started looking for a 4-5 bed villa on the island and there doesn't seem to be much available quality-wise and the landlords don't seem very willing to haggle on the price, maybe 10% at best, other than that some will take 2 cheques.

need to renew mine in AD for 5th year running - scruffy 5 bed villa for 145k. Guess the market price is still above what we're paying so will not be able to haggle.

Properties in the 200-240K range - 4 or 5 bedroom villas with a maid's quarters.
Mrs O viewed one place yesterday near to Carrefour / Embassies Area which was up for 220K with no negotiation on the price. It was tidy but poorly laid out internally. The agent (an Aussie chick) was a bit high pressure and kept on hassling us for a commitment.
