Wow - just seen an advert for a 3/4 bed villa in Akoya for 55k. OK, it's on the far side of no-where but still. wow. I could probably move there, get a new car and have a driver and still be in the money

We are on track for two lost quarters of global GDP and, potentially, a regional oil crisis.

Thought so, you have to do something like a 15km trip just to do a U turn to get heading back into DXB.

wow.. that's insane.

I have a 6km U-turn for my house, drives me nuts. Although my mate has a solution which seems to involve doing it at around 270k in a Porsche.

Re: Rents

We are back to 2011 prices when I first moved here.

62.5k
65k
****Moved to identical apartment on lower floor
90k
93k
95k
97k
103k
97k
90k - this was renewed in July. Huge mistake

We don't really care when it's in the 90k range, it basically gets paid for by one of the allowances (we lose if we don't use).
You can get them on the market for 65k now. When we were renewing it was more like 80k.
Bad side to this, as documented previously - the quality of neighbours. We're gonners when the rent is up this year. I want to be the poorest scumbag in the nice tower, not the other way round.

Tempting to go balls out on a villa though, but means buying another car and giving up on life I think.

We got our 3 bed + maids fresh outta the box villa in Mira Oasis for 95K in July. Obviously expect it to go down this year with Mira Oasis 2, 3 & 4 being released along with all the other developments out this way.

You work in remote places so are used to living in remote places.

I keep getting Mira suggested, or Nshama Town Square or whatever it is, but they're too much in the middle of nowhere for us at the moment. Think we're going to go balls out on a pimpin apartment in Downtown. I can walk to work, she's got a short commute and we live it up until we're married and start thinking of whether we want kids or not.

A lady at work says it takes an hour to get from downtown to Ranches 2. An hour. A whole hour to live in suburbia, surrounded by scumbag screaming children and their ****-knuckle idiot parents. What the actual?
