yeah, we 'pay' 165.000 for a 4 bedroom independent villa in Mirdif with maids quarters with showerroom and laundry room, 4 bathrooms, 6 toilets (yeah), eand enough parking for a small village, but it's our 5th year in this house...

We've been evicted from our 4 bed compound villa on Jumeirah Road paying 145'000 which we'd been in for 6 years. Now paying 320'000 for a larger 4 bed villa on small compound in Jumeirah 1.

I know! :curse: Don't start on me or I'll quit this forum. Have some sympathy.

It's people like you who keep the greedy landlords in profit.

when did you lease this? 4 beds in Jumeirah were 380k at the end of November. So it has gone down.

Moved in last month, BC. Did the deal in late January. Funnily, the LL wanted 380 but settled for 320 in 1 cheque. Still think I'm over paying but we like the place and there is always next year!

Paying a little more for the place you like is well worth it if its affordable, must be horrendous living somewhere you dont like, I have just renewed at JBR and I know its not to everyones taste but I love it, I did look at other properties around 20k cheaper but they were no where near the size of the one Im in, plus easy to get in and out of, easy to get a taxi, and by the time I had paid another 5% agents fees and moving costs it wasnt worth moving, plus the landlord originally wanted 1 cheque and on discussion accepted 6.

No, no, moving is out! I hate doing it and wouldn't have done it if our previous LL wasn't such a tw@t. I mean to have a little chat with our new LL and bring him up to speed on the realities of Dubai. I'm thinking by January, 250 would be more realistic.

I like the price. That's about it.
That said it's not a bad place and beats paying double for basically the same thing in marina etc.
Can't justify paying 10,000quid a year extra for a view.

Never smell any sewerage where I am. Grossly exaggerated....but that's fine keeps the reputation low and as a result...rents low.

I have been up there a few times and I have smelt nothing either, I think the blocks themselves are quite attractive, and I agree I wouldn't waste 10,00 quid either!

350k in October - 4 bed, study, maids room (all ensuited) compound in Barsha. Lovely out back, two shared pools, gym, own little bbq areas, huge, brand new.......blocked toilets constantly, floods leaks, sewage stench, electrical faults. The kids love it - and the neighbours are pretty nice, so at least it's a socially pleasant place to live.

Just been emailed about a 7 bed in Barsha, large private garden, masses of parking and private pool. Asking 350, but had several emails so probably coming down.
