Default Relocating to UAE - Any UK Consulate formalities

Hi
When a Britisher relocates to UAE, are there any essential / nice to have formalities to be completed? e.g. registering such a move into UAE with the British Embassy, etc.
Thanks
D

Registration is online now - and IMHO of doubtful value.

In my mind, compliance will precede value at this stage - so many thanks for pointing this out, Scot47.

You used to get invited a garden party, but not now. In fact as far as I'm aware the 'embassy' does nothing for the average brit out here now.
I'm working on the assumption that by "britisher" you're a) German and b) talking about someone from the UK.
