Quickest way for my son to renew passport in Doha?

Hey all,

My 28 year old son is a British national who has a British passport which is due to expire in November. He's been living and working in Qatar (Doha) for the last two years and has just made plans to travel to the Caribbean on August 7th . I know that traveling on a passport which is close to expiry isn't advisable as some countries don't like it and so I guess he'll need his passport renewed.

What's the best/quickest way for him to do this? I don't believe he can do it all online? Although I may be wrong.

Thanks for any advice!

R.

Go online.
Register
Click through the process
Pay the 100-odd quid.
Print the forms.
Send it off.

Mine had a timescale of 'MINIMUM 4 WEEKS' but was back in 2.

:goodpost: Thanks for the quick reply! When I spoke to him earlier today, he made it sound like it was a difficult process. But I've just had a look on the passport office website and found the place he needs to start from (https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports). Is that the page you were referring to?

If so, I'll get him on it straight away

Thanks!

Yep, it's honestly a complete piece of piss. Just go through that site (takes 5-10mins) then pay, then print the form, READ it properly to make sure you have all the right stuff, then send it. job done.

Do pay the extra for use of courier. That makes it even quicker and it can be tracked all the way there and back.
