Default Quality of life in Abu Dhabi

I've applied for a job in Abu Dhabi which has a monthly income of 14,000AED plus accommodation paid for by the company, flights, health insurance etc. All I would need to do is pay school fees for my son, buy food, rent/buy car, pay bills and do normal life things like go out and shop. Is this a good salary that would afford me and my son a good quality of life?
Also, I'm a single parent. Are there any significant challenges I would face as a single mum?
Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There. First of all, how old is your son? As school fees are ridiculously expensive, even from a young age, you really would be a lot better off if you could negotiate school fees as part of the package.

Have you got your childs fathers permission to take him from the country, this is a must and you will need the permission letter witnessed by two solicitors and stamped by the foreign office.

Having lived in Abu Dhabi for 12 years with my son I honestly dont think I could have got by on 14,000 Dhs, I say this because apart from school fees, you will have to pay for uniforms maybe books, transport, registration fees etc.

School fees will eat 3-4k a month.

That leaves you 10k to live. (assuming rent is paid).

It's doable but it is tight. The biggest problem (if it is not a teaching job) is what to do with your son when the schools are off and during the scorching heat of the summer.

Also remember, you lose your family support network.
