Default QATAR- what to bring

Hi guys!

I am preparing to move to Qatar and looking for some advice on things you wish you’d taken/what you bring back with you when you return to the UK that you can’t get in Qatar or is expensive there?

e.g Cadbury’s chocolate!

thanks

A suitcae full of Cadbury's might not stand up to the heat ! I remeember my surprise on first arriving in Jeddah in 1970 that the local shop had a fridge in which he stored bars of Cadbury's !

Cadbury's is definitely different, so if you're fussy, bring it.

Otherwise you'll need patience by the truck load, a sense of humour, a strong drinking arm and an lifetime supply of resilience.

Basic generic medicine is pretty cheap and the Pharmacy will give you anything in Doha . You can get almost anything bar a few things but it will cost you especially in supermarkets like Megamart which imports everything from the US UK and Europe .

Good call on Oxo cubes/beef stock. As above though, you can get most stuff in Doha.

Smoke alarm and CO alarm, there won't be a working one in your apartment. And one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fire-Escape-Ladders/b?ie=UTF8&node=1939537031

The poster is asking for things to take to Qatar, not your weekly shopping list Scot.
