Default Qatar visa & equipment question

Hi,

I may have a 3 day photo shoot in Qatar soon.

Anyone know the current visa rules for single entry on UK passport? It is technically for work / business - should I declare as business trip? Is it required to have a letter of invitation or no need?

Also - I'll be arriving with a bag load of cameras, laptop, video camera, lenses etc - wondering if that will cause any issues (security or otherwise)?

I'm guessing no one here will know the full answers - but any advice welcomed!

Many thanks,

Auto

Just hand your passport over at the immigration desk, pay your QAR 100 and Bob's your Uncle. You may be asked to give the name of a hotel. The stamp is valid for a month.

Can't answer about the photographic equipment.

100 QAR will see you with a 1 month tourist visa on arrival . I don't think you will find any problem at immigration .

I have technicians come in quite regular from DXB with a fair bit of equipment for short periods of time . These guys don't have business visa's just tourist visa's , they come in and do the work then fly back out.

We haven't had any problems so far , obviously there's always a chance that you might get stopped and have to explain the equipment but that would be fairly easy i would have thought , it's not contraband of any sort .

Have a nose through this http://portal.www.gov.qa/wps/portal/frontpage
It has a lot of info on it .
