Qatar labour law contract do people get the Arabic text translated
Hi all getting close to getting the local labour law contract from an agent in Qatar for a contract role at Qatargas, that agent is called Fircroft, they seem a good bunch, but I'm assuming correct to get the Arabic text translated independently on the contract presented before signing and to sign it before mobilisation?
I've been given a English "contract letter" to sign with the package we have agreed outlined but I'm assuming that's no real legal protection. Cheers... |

The local contract may be of interest, but I wouldn't expect any of it to be negotiable. Surely Qatargas has an English translation. I think your assumption is correct. Rights are fairly meaningless and often difficult to enforce--that's part of the quid pro quo of the premium in salary you'll be receiving. |
