Process at end of rental contract?

What is the process for moving out of a rental apartment at the end of the lease?

Our contract states at the end of the contract it is null and void, however there is also a clause that states there is a 90 day notice period for ending and renewing the lease.

Can anyone clarify what is needed? 90 days takes us to End July but the lease is up to mid June.

Thanks :)

If it's like my old lease then you have to serve the 90days notice BEFORE the lease expires. If you don't, it automatically renews. Move fast my friend...

Probably just gives them another fatuous excuse to hang on to your deposit.

Re: Process at end of rental contract?

You're ****ed.

My contract specifically said two months' notice to landlord of intent to renew or move out, otherwise I incurred a penalty of one month's rent. Since I got the LL to agree to a clause that allowed me to cancel my contract with two months' notice with the remainder of the rent refunded (and how useful that turned out to be!) I didn't bother to amend the original renewal notification clause.

That said, RERA apparently sets the default notice period at three months, which is probably why your contract had the three months on it.
