Default Primary schools in Dubai

Hi
I am new to this forum and apologise for asking this question again. I have searched the forum but there are so many threads with varying opinions. We have just arrived here from Barbados and have a 4 year old and 20 month old. We know it is late to get into a school for our daughter so will have to take what we can get but want to ask someone who lives here. Our daughter is a really outgoing, verging on loud (like lots of Kiwi kids) who needs to be in a free thinking challenging environment. Does anyone have any recommendations for primary schools that are not so much rote learning and encourage thinking. We have been involved in the West Indian way of learning which is very old fashioned and want to head away from that if we can. There seem to be so many schools here and we are lost as to which are better. Any ideas would be fantastic.

Thanks

it depends a lot on where you are living, you won't want to be travelling further than you have to or it will be a mare...

you could take a look at horizon school, it is very free thinking, but somehow still embraces all the traditional educational values...my daughter is there and loves it, sure indiegirl will second the recommendation...mind you, i know there is a waiting list...

We are not sure where we will be living yet...probably the Springs but at this stage we are in a hotel in the Marina. Our daughter is 4 so will be starting reception, although I think it is called something different here. We are from NZ so we will follow the British or International System I guess. I know I sound vague but we are only just getting sorted now. I noticed that there were a couple of schools in the Meadows area, does anyone know what these are like?
Thanks again.
