Possibly the last questions before moving to KSA
Hello everybody,
Again, it me
it's almost a final stage to get organized to go to Jeddah,
I think. Container will be here next week, booked a flight for 3rd June.
I have a few more last minute questions need your help.
Please everyone share few moments to answer me below :
1. Any items, you wish you had never/should brought to KSA.
2. Other than P85, is there any other form I must to handed into UK gov. before moving to abroad ??? Do we really have to it, etc, etc ?
3. How do you manage to get your paper mails to be delivered to KSA?
Does royal mail redirect service do really good ? etc, etc.
4. Any final advice to me to avoid time/money consume once I be in KSA.

1. I can't think of anything - Shopping is the national sport in Saudi, there hasn't been anything yet I've needed that I haven't managed to find.
2. Again, can't think of anything...don't expect a rapid response with the P85 though
3. I get my UK post directed to family in the UK who bundle it up and Fedex it to my company address - not all my stuff was getting through when they posted it Royal Mail though
4. Get a load of passport photos done and have several copies (paper and electronic) of your contract/passport/visa/driving licence. Practice your aim ready for the Iqama medical

Best of luck with your move!
Like it was said shopping is the national hobby so probably you won't miss anything. Honestly the only things I missed on the first year were some medication for the kids and myself...solved the problem stocking up on the first vacation and refilled when some friends went home!!!
And one last advice:get ready for the heat!!!!
Forgot to say that for urgent papers we use Fedex and for packages or orders from Amazon, Ebay we use Aramex!

We arrived to Jeddah a year ago with 4x20kg bags (one per person) and do not missed to find here all we need except:
- some specific medicals, they do not have any alcohol based drops or spray,
- nordic style salted herring and cold smoked meat (I do not mean bacon),
- good quality safari style closing, hat, shoes.
Everything else we found here. Just note that there differently from EU there are no any quality standards, so a lot of cheap sh..t which cost 3 sar in chinamarket or the same thing 30 sar in Danube. Stainelsteel knifes get rusty next day, closes lost form and color after the first wash and so on. Check what you buy if you want to use it more than once.
