Defo kids doing GCSE's or A levels can not miss that amount of school they, the teachers go crazy at this level of education if the kids miss one or two days during term time and they barely squeeze everything in now with all the religious holidays

Call me a cynic, but I can't help thinking this is exploiting the fact that Ramadan follows so closely on the start of a term -convenience factor for perhaps teachers looking for extended leave. After all, they have managed fine all the other years when Ramadan fell on different dates. .......Whatever the thinking behind it-certainly don't have the kids' education at the forefront of their mind.
Best not start on how religion and eduction can be a bad mix again.
