Default Possible change to AD govt housing rule?

"ABU DHABI, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Abu Dhabi is prepared in principle to make exceptions to its policy requiring all of its public sector employees to live inside the emirate, its government said on Thursday.

It was the first time that the government had explicitly said it would compromise on the policy, which could pressure thousands of expatriate professionals and other workers to move to Abu Dhabi from neighbouring Dubai

I would be very surprised if the common man can get this exemption.

If Abu Dhabi stopped charging silly money for rent more people would live here. There really is a shortage of middle income stuff available so it's no wonder that people would rather commute along death road every day (personal I think it's insane but each to their own).
