Default police clearance for kuwait/qatar

ok, so i got a fine and a night in the cells about 2 years ago for drunk and disorderly.

is this likely to show up on a crb and if so will it cause any problems in me applying for a visa for qatar or kuwait?

what was the food like?

Look at it this way. If you it pops up then you may not get the job. If it does not, then you may get the job. If you don't apply for fear of it popping up, you don't get the job. Just give it a go - respond to the problem if it arises.

If you are planning on working for a Government organisation, then you will probably have to submit a police records check as part of the immigration process. Private sector job - not normally required.

If you have a UK address, you can apply online for a Basic Disclosure from Disclosure Scotland, which is all you need to progress the immigration process. Down-side is that will probably list your unspent conviction, which I think might take 5 years to drop off the Basic Disclosure.

In the worst case, your conviction will become known to your prospective employer and the Immigration officials, but it is not for dishonesty, so I doubt anyone in their right mind would see it as a problem.

Qatar and Kuwait are full of dubious characters, so you will appear like a saint...

Police clearance IS required for a Kuwait visa - not sure about Qatar though.

Had to provide an attested Police Check/Disclosure (not a CRB Check which is different) for my job with the Qatar Foundation - so not much chance of just Tippexing it out. Not sure if this in always the case for other government appointments.

I have never had a police check though I never have or will work in a government organisation. The bastards fined you for D & D ? That's harsh I always got turfed out at 6am with a caution before they had to feed me breakfast.

Qatar 'Police Check' for visa is not a CRB check.

all that was required was a letter from the British Embassy here in Doha (fee of 350Qr for the pleasure!) which is a declaration by you that you have no criminal conviction, gets stamped by the Embassy then taken to Ministry of Interior and stamped by them.

At no point did the British Embassy here run a check in the UK. I know because the whole process took less than 10 minutes from walking in the door, they were more concerned about taking the fee than anythign else

I got some good news on this last night. If you pay the fixed penalty notice within 21 days it does not appear on your record.

Taken from the home office website. Happy Days!
