Hi can anyone help. My friend and are both seperated but intend to flat share in Abu Dhabi, purely a business thing with seperate bedrooms. Is this classed as illegal? Thanks in advance.

loads of people do share though, it's shame with the property prices being so high, it's a risk you have to look at though, if you get caught it could be very dodgy

platonic relationships not allowed, 2 apartments ok, because you are not living together. people who are not related and are opposite sex cannot live together, but as said, people have no choice too here, but consequences if caught.

Never! have no idea really. It all seems a bit daft to me, I'm sure you do as much illegaly on a home visit as living together! What happens when people unamrried couples go on holiday? Do they book seperate rooms? and here is another thought, I see lots of rooms being advertisted with families, if we each took a room in same house, still illegal? Lots of questions, sorry.

If you took a room as a family, it will not be assumed you will be sleeping with someone in another room.. however if you live in any room on your own and a member of the opposite sex is living in the same apartment without a husband/wife, then it is illegal.

Hotels don't count. The law is conveniently overlooked.
Live here and you will learn, in time - about 25 years that is..
