Painkillers prescribed from a dr?

Good evening,

Ive sprained my ankle pretty bad over the weekend and have been taking panadol extra with no effect!

I was going to go to the dr but i was told they wont do anything other than send me to the hospital, its not broken but i do need something to take the edge off.

What will a hospital prescribe me with Codeine being illegal here? I have read somewhere that its okay to take if it has been prescribed by a dr but with the stories you read about people being imprisoned......

should i just suffer it?

try getting the strongest Ibuprofen that the Chemist will let you have.

Its also anti-inflammatory so should do better than Panadol.
