Old Abu Dhabi
Cant let the capital city down so in the interest of fairness here are some old pics of AD
Site of the now Muqta bridge and old watch tower. I remember helping to excavate the stone age remains of dwellings just on the far bank on the right hand side, similar structures to Skara Brae in Shetland. http://files.websitewizard.com/files...sing_small.jpg "Taken from the roof of the BP Arabian Agency Depot Engineer's house, this shows his depot and not too far away the famouse Beach Hotel. This was located where the old Corniche hospital is now. We are looking towards the town (village) and the port road that was later constructed would be running a bit to the left of the picture. " http://files.websitewizard.com/files...1964_small.jpg main street in Abu Dhai 1966 http://files.websitewizard.com/files...1964_small.jpg http://biega.com/photoalbum/em-abudh...nstruction.jpg |
