Default Offer in Kuwait- Need help

Hi Guys

First up would like to say what a great forum!!

Iam a single. I have receieved an offer in Kuwait and iam not sure shall i accpet or not. What do you guys think of it? Iam an engineer and will be working in the telecom field. I have 5 years experience.

My offer is the following:
* Basic = USD 4,000
* Housing = USD 2,500
* Car = USD 600 <-- not sure what they mean by that

My questions are :

- what do you think of the offer? Is it paid in a lumpsum of 7000k??
- how much would rent cost me kuwait? I heard its expensive!!!
- will i be able to save with this kind of money?? If not then i will not accpet
- hows the country itself? any good?? lifestyle etc
- cars ? are they expensive??

Thank you very much in advance!!!

It doesn't seem very high to me? I am not sure if we have anyone on here posting at the moment who is in Kuwait, we did have a while back. Do a search and see what comes up. The majority of the posters on here are in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Button Moon

Its an old childrens programme.
If you are under 30 doubtful you would know it. If you arent british you wont know it at all.
From what I recall Button Moon was 'a button'?!, so it's used as an expression that someone is 'off the planet' or a long way from reality.

Are you telling me that the moon is a planet? I thought that they downgraded pluto to a stone or something recently so the moon would not stand much of a chance.

...try WAfrica if you want a basket case..

No, the moon is, in fact, a moon. Perhaps we should give it a more distinctive name. Like, oh i dunno, Gelsomina????

I've spent some time in Kuwait and I'd say that while you can live on that amount you're unlikely to save up any money unless you are exceptionally thrifty. Even then....

The good news is that there is absolutely nothing to do there so your options for spending money are limited. It's extremely dull
