Non smoking pubs/bars in Dubai ?
Is there any in dubai ?
went to the goldne tulip yesterday and finbar magee's the week before - good atmosphere in both but having got used to the no smoking ban in england - could do with it being implemented over here...

Scarletts bar in emirates towers is no smoking as is Apres.

cheers - meant to add if any of the bars that are no smoking also show the premiership footy !!

Surely more bars are non smoking here than not?! At least that's been my experience in the indoor ones. Nezesassi (something like that) at the Al Manzil Hotel in downtown Burj Dubai is non-smoking and shows footy. Food isn't bad either.

My mistake then....clearly don't go to enough! Place in the Al Manzil definately is non-smoking.

Sir Humphrey Appleby was right about smokers laying down their lives for the National Health Service and not being a burden.
According to the Netherlands Public Health Authority: a person of normal weight costs on average GBP210,000 over their lifetime; a smoker clocks up just GBP165,000, and the obese run up an average of GBP187,000 bill.
Plus all the extra tax a smoker gives to the government would reduce the smoker's actual health costs enormously.

No moral to the story but just reconfirming that Sir Humprheys original 'joke' had a basis in truth.
