Hi All

Can anyone clear this up for me - I currently live and work in Qatar, but have the opportunity for a new job in Dubai. I know if I wanted to switch companies in Qatar I would need an NOC but if i move to Dubai do I still need one??

I didn't know if there was a general GCC regulation or law regarding this?

You don't need a NOC if you're going from Qatar to the UAE . Two different Sovereign states .

The NOC only applies within the same country in some GCC states . You will be handed a 2 automatic ban when you leave Qatar though . You'd need to apply for a NOC if you wanted to return within the two years .

Not that I'm aware of no - as in you won't need one. Labour bans (for example) aren't GCC wide and can relatively easily be overturned now anyway.

Is that a 2 year ban from entering Qatar or just a working ban. Can I enter on a visit visa?

Two year automatic working ban . Visit visas are not a problem . The ban is lifted when you aquire the NOC .
