Hello,

My mother is coming to visit me in Australia in a few weeks and will be staying in Dubai for a night before flying to Australia.

I was going to ask her to get me a couple of Nintendo DS's for my kids for christmas but wanted to check if they are any cheaper at the airport duty free before asking her.

They are $199 in Australia.

Any help would be appreciated.

the duty free is no cheaper than the normal shops in dubai, etc so you should try and do a search.

Thanks but the only place my mum will get a chance to visit is the duty free shops in the airport, so if the prices are the same as the shops, can any one help me with what price are they in the shops.

It'd probably be cheaper if you can get her to visit a supermarket... they're open late...

Also, check out the cost in Dixons Tax Free in advance if you can, it could be cheaper to buy from the UK!

Yes she is checking Dixons before she leaves,

But I would like to know a Dubai price so she can be armed with prices. I know what they cost in Britain and Australia so can make a comparison, if I know what price they are in Dubai she will have all the information she needs to make a price comparison.

I don't want her to have to phone me at 2 am to tell me the price in Dixons duty free, for me only to tell her wait until Dubai, as they might be cheaper.
