Is the NightLife in Dubai primarily focused at Hotels?

Hello:

So, as Dubai only serves alchol at restaurants and clubs that are attached to hotels, is the nightlife scene primarily set at hotels?

Does it get old that its only at hotels or it doesnt really make a difference? Is it the same crowd at these establishments?

Thanks

I was in the Locker Room at Golden Tulip just now. Wall to wall geezers, not a hooker in sight.

Many of the hotels are actually large resorts complete with their own separate shopping and dining areas. Madinat Jumeirah and Souk al Bahar are two perfect examples, so there's certainly bars and restaurants with a liquor license that don't feel like they're in a hotel.

Sporting facilities can also have a liquor license, and the Aviation club is in theory a sporting facility but is more widely known for its cluster of bars and restaurants.

As for hypocrisies in Dubai, too many to be listed on a single thread.

According to my girlfriend who's been staying on a boat for the Grand Prix, they were all there this weekend.

I'm not really looking but thing is, I been to Vista bar and Locker Room recently and when ur saying this stuff about Dubai, from where I'm sitting I dont see it.

Granted you can go into York International Hotel and get the shock of your life, but this is a 'special' place I guess.

When u generalise this way about hookers in bars in Dubai, I think you're wrong

Ah, the halycon days of hooker bars.....

Quite tame, really, the UK scene when you think about it. Plenty of slappers but no 'ho's......

Well.. they don't bother me TBH. Ok, I don't go to places like York or Rattlesnake or something, so that'll probably help, but when there are a few running around for the lonely men, live and let live.

Whats that hookerless place though? Same as quiznight? (never been there as well, so I really don't know).

not yet...think their bar isn't open yet
it's getting a bit confusing with all those different Adresses...there is the one in Old Town Burj Dubai, and the one called The Adress Dubai Mall...think that could lead to some misunderstandings...

anyway...to answer the orginal question
it's never bothered me, you don't really think about it to be honest...
and there are places that are not hotel based, like Zuma in DIFC that's just a restaurant/bar amongst office blocks, or Chi/The Lodge, which is part of Al Nasr leisure centre...
All the bars in Madinat and Al Bahar aren't actually in a hotel either and some of the bars and clubs just have a separate side entrance so you don't actually go into the hotel...

as for the same crowd thing...I personally feel that you don't really get that here that much, seems to be different people (mostely) every time you go somewhere...

Exactly - why pay for a hooker when you can get the same for a couple of Bacardi Breezers? Unless you have "special" Max Mosely like tastes I guess?
