Default New mum looking for Paediatrician in Dubai

Hi

I have recently had a son. He is 7 weeks and due his injections in the next week.

My gynaecologist was at emirates hospital and I know they have a Paediatrician so was thinking of booking there. Feeling a bit uncertain though.

Does anyone have any recommendations of good Paediatricians ?

Any advice is welcome.

thanks

we live in JBR. I dont mind travelling so long as he is looked after. I hate injections myself so am feeling quite nervous about this whole process.

I was looking on the expat mums website and a few people have recommended the Rosary Medical Center in the Springs. Any views?

Hi! I'm in JBR too... I was recommended a certain Dr Lowbser in Jumeirah1 (nr Macgreedy's/ Spineys) by a random mum in MotE, although I've never been

The MedCare hospital also seems to have a good paediatrics department.

my son who is 4 was very very ill after having an athsma attack, we took him to Emirates Hospital and the paed there refused to leave until my son was stabilised, i honestly felt like he would have done anything to look after my son, he was absolutely brilliant and explained everything he was doing and thought, i cant praise him enough.

He name was Dr Zuhair and he has his office in Emirates Hospital next door to the pharmacy there.

If you see him tell him i said hello.

Hi there,

When we arrived in Dubai my daughter was 5 weeks old and we were given Dr. Keith Nicholl's number. He has his own clinic on Jumeira Beach Rd. (in Umm Sequeim). You can google his name for the clinic's website. I really can't recommend him enough.

Creepy? Well, I always found him (and the nurses) very helpful, attentive and reassuring without being patronising as some doctors can be. We've just had our second child a few weeks ago and I went to see him about some minor health issue. He called us 3 days later to check that things were improving. Also, his clinic is quite busy, so I am not the only one having a high opinion of him.

My daughter of 9 years saw Dr Nicholl from birth and then when I had my second daughter we started to see Dr Loubscher as I really liked him and my youngest adores him.

I recommend both paeditricians and it is really nice to have 2 doctors to chose from in an emergency as they can get very booked up.
I suggest visiting both and then you can make a decision. To me it is really important to ahve a paeditrican that you and your children like and trust especially if your children fall very sick or there is an emergency - my 9 year old had to have stitches in her chin (at 6pm at night) and have x rays for a suspected broken arm (at 5:30 pm). Dr Nicholl saw her for the first accident and Dr Loubscher for the 2nd.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Hopefully this thread will help someone else

as my husband work people have come through with an apartment for us in Abu Dhabi and so we are moving there this week.

I will have to find a Paediatrician for him quickly this week as his 8 weeks jabs are getting late now.
