New mum looking for a Paediatrician in Abu Dhabi
Hi
I have a son who is 8 weeks now and due his injections. He has a bit of a cold at the moment and so we took him to the New Medical centre (I think that was the name - it was our first night in Abu Dhabi after moving from Dubai). I wasnt completely impressed with the doctor as we was very abrasive and felt that if we visited him we wanted to give our son medication. He didnt ask for any background info or anything, just the symptoms and then prescribed medication. It has made me feel a bit uncertain and nervous so would prefer a recommended paediatrician.
Does anyone have any recommendations of good Paediatricians within Abu Dhabi? I would really appreciate any advice. I have heard of a midwife from the Abu Dhabi mums website who can do the vaccination programme and have tried to contact her but no luck so far.
It would be good to have a paediatrician though as im sure he will need to see one sooner or later.
Any advice is welcome.
thanks

The only solid advice I can give is that when you find a doctor, stick with them and build a clinical history. There is no sharing of medical records between private hospitals (as far as I am aware) so if your doctor is not available, other doctor at the same hospital can quickly see a history.

I disagree andrew, we have taken our records for our daughter, (born and first GP and paed in Dubai) to AD.
To the OP, if you are living off island, al noor near adnec has a great pead department, and as parents of babies, we all worry, its lovely to talk and take advice from someone who is on the same page, so to speak.

By the way, if it's a real emergency, like at 2am in the morning, go to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, our friends were over from the UK and their 18 month old son had a very high temperature, we took him there and they were excellent.
