Default New to Jeddah and seeking friends

Hello!

I am newly arrived in Jeddah with my husband, and am looking to try and meet new friends and find things to do.

I wondered if there any ladies coffee mornings/groups that meet during the week?

Also how can I find out about any social events and maybe get a list of clubs from the British Embassy, someone mentioned this on an earlier post but I am unsure how to get this type of information.

Any help would be much appreciated. New friends and interests will help me settle in to life in Jeddah.

Y.

Best thing to do is to make friends on your compound. Also check if the compound has planned coffeemornings, plus, it is easy to meet other ladies on the shopping bus, at the pool, gym, etc.

Hi Alexa,

We are currently in a hotel and may then be in private accommodation not on a compound so any help will be great!

Thanks for your reply.

It is near the Bilad Hotel at the North End of the city. A taxi driver should know - if you get a sensible one. "As-sifara al-britaniya" ("Sifara" is Embassy but never mind !)
