Nope it isn't. But emirates didn't want any part of the country club set up, which in the proposed land tie up, was difficult to avoid.

they did initially though Admon, the Exiles walked away with a new purpose builty Club and DCC ended up with nothing. You saw the email, they need to arrange finance? in this current climate and with no members!! they don't stand a chance. Where is the compensation they were going to get for the loss of the old Club?

don't confuse exiles with emirates. Two different entities. Exiles have zero to do with the new facility.

yes I know that, but they kept their name and their members still have a club, which is more than the DCC members got. I think we made a big mistake changing Chairmans when we did.

exiles still have a club? Where is that? What facilities do they have?

As far as I am aware, they have nothing.

there are still Rugby pitches, there is still a bar, they still have the 7's. DCC has nothing, no golf course, no Dubai Men's Open, no Squash 3's, nada.

I won't go all day, but its the emirates 7's, anyone can pay to use the facilities there, just like you can pay to play on a golf or squash court anywhere in dubai.

Yes dcc has no home, but the 7's is hardly the exiles home, they just use the facility.

Ethos83 is an unknown quantity at this point

Perhaps it's simply time to bid farewell to the DCC?

If the club tries to open up new facilities way out near the Rugby grounds/Dubailand, who's going to join? It's a long trek for most people in New Dubai or Jumeria-Umm Suqeim.

very true. Wouldn't be too bad if it was along emirates rd near the ranches, as most of the stuff earmarked for that area has never got out the ground..

I totally agree with you on this, we wont be joining if they do build a new facility. The majority of the members have now moved on, joined new places or even left Dubai. I can't see it ever happening anyway.
